Privacy Policy

What this site collects, what it does not, and who else sees anything.

Updated

The short version

This site is static HTML. There are no accounts, no logins, no email capture and no server that receives what you type. Every calculator runs entirely inside your browser. Your grades, your GPA and your class rank never leave the device you typed them on.

The one thing that does leave is what the address bar shows. When you use a calculator, your inputs are written into the page URL so the result is a link you can bookmark or send to someone. That is a convenience, and it has a consequence worth knowing: if you share that link, you share the numbers in it.

Advertising

This site is funded by display advertising. Advertising partners may set cookies or read device identifiers to measure and, where you have consented, personalise the ads you see. That is their processing, under their own policies, not ours. We do not receive the contents of those cookies and we do not combine anything from them with anything you type into a calculator, because nothing you type into a calculator reaches us in the first place.

Where the law requires consent — the EEA, the UK and Switzerland — a consent notice appears before any personalised advertising cookie is set, and you can decline or change your choice at any time. Declining does not change the calculators in any way; you will simply see non-personalised ads.

Google, as one of these partners, uses cookies to serve ads based on prior visits to this or other sites. You can opt out of personalised Google advertising at Google's ad settings, and manage third-party cookie use for personalised advertising at aboutads.info/choices or youronlinechoices.eu.

Visitors under 18

This site is written for high school and college students, which means a meaningful share of readers are between 13 and 17. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, of any age: there is no signup, no contact form, no comment section and no newsletter. Where advertising rules restrict personalised advertising to minors, those restrictions apply to the advertising shown here.

This site is not directed at children under 13 and nothing on it is written for them.

Analytics

We measure aggregate traffic — how many people visited a page, roughly where in the world from, which search term brought them. That measurement is at the level of a page, not a person. There is no profile of you here, because there is nowhere to keep one.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to know what personal information is held about you, to have it deleted, and to object to it being sold or shared. On this site the honest answer to the first is "none that we hold", which makes the rest straightforward. Requests about advertising identifiers set by our advertising partner are best directed at that partner, whose own policy governs them.

Changes

If this policy changes, the date at the top of the page changes with it. The date shown is the last time it was reviewed.

Contact

Questions about this policy can be sent to the address on the contact page. Requests about advertising identifiers are best directed at our advertising partner, whose own policy governs them; the opt-out links in the advertising section above are the fastest route.
